Audit Trail

The Audit Trail feature automatically records all activities performed by users in the application.

The Audit Trail feature is available for the Administrator and Submission Manager roles. For a Submission Manager to access an audit trail record, the value of the element property name="useRepositoryLevelSecurity" in the config.xml must be set to true:

property name="useRepositoryLevelSecurity" value="true"

The following activities are recorded by the Audit Trail:

  • Logging in and logging out of the application.
  • Log on failure due to incorrect user credentials.
  • Adding, editing, activating, and deleting a user account.
  • Adding, editing, and deleting application groups.
  • Adding, editing, deleting, activating, and deactivating applications
  • Adding, editing, deleting, indexing, and refreshing sequences (re-indexing submissions).
  • Adding, editing, and deleting user groups.
  • Adding, updating, opening, transferring, closing, and purging comments.
  • Successful log on of the activated users to the application to identify them and ensure they stay within their contractual user limit.
  • Create, Delete, and Update of Security operations for Application groups, Users, Disciplines, and Countries.

The Audit Trail report provides additional, relevant information of completed activities. For example, if you add an application you can view the details of the application, the indexed submissions and documents in the application, the result of the operation performed, and more.
