Reference Active Ingredients for Component Active Ingredients
The reference active ingredients for an active ingredient are tracked at the product component level, including the strength measures of the reference active ingredients. A component may contain none, one, or many reference active ingredients.
The following rules determine if you can associate a reference active ingredient with a component:
- You must have the same user privileges as needed for adding a product.
- The component type must be pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical-medical device, or veterinary, and the product family type for the associated product family must also be pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical-medical device, or veterinary.
Note: The reference active ingredient could be added to the product family type of flu vaccine when component type is different from flu vaccine.
- You must have at least one active ingredient associated with a component.
- You can have the same reference active ingredients in multiple components for the same product.
Note: The active ingredient could have only one reference active ingredient.
