Submission Planning and Tracking Queries

The query links related to submission and planning are defined on the Submission Planning and Tracking tab.

For easy reference, the query descriptions are arranged alphabetically by query name.

Assembly Comparison

The Assembly Comparison query enables you to compare two assembly structures, such as a template and an assembly or two current active views, for example, to determine whether document versions are different between sister submissions. The contents of the first assembly is compared with the second assembly. If the folder trees and document names match, version numbers are compared. This query cannot be sorted.

If the folder structure names and numbers in the assemblies are different, the Difference column identifies the sections that have been ADDED or REMOVED, SAME or DIFFERENT. If the folder structure names and numbers match, the documents in that folder structure are then compared.

If an assembly has been removed from the current active view, slip sheets that were added to the leaf and folder no longer appear in the assembly.

When documents are compared, the document names, binding, and file locations and binding IDs are all compared, with precedence given to the binding IDs of the documents. If documents are different in any of these ways, the attributes for each document are reported in the columns on the right of the query. In this way, added or removed sections may be ascertained, and if anything about the base content is different it will show up in the query also.

Note: Export this query to Microsoft Excel™ for ease of viewing when you compare large assemblies.

Assembly Status

The Assembly Status query enables you to view the status of an assembly that contains documents with a specific document assignment status and that has other attributes, for example, a specific percentage of documents that are in a submission and are locked, approved, or past due. This query returns the following:
  • One row for the root plus one row per folder up to three folders in depth
  • The number and percentage of documents in that folder (and any child folders) that satisfy the criteria
  • Bound (approved), Missing Version, Missing (including Missing and Missing Content), and Unassigned based on their assignment status attribute (These are added to the total number of documents in the submission.)
  • Locked documents based on the presence of locked folders in the assembly
  • Past due documents that have a due date earlier than today's date and that are Bound
Note: Documents directly under the assembly root are not included in this query.
