For each component defined at the product level that is of the flu vaccine, pharmaceutical, veterinary, or pharmaceutical-medical device combination entity type, the PDS enables you to associate active ingredients with those components.
Note: Active Ingredients that exist under the component are auto-populated in the PDS.
You may associate one or several active ingredient entities with each component in a PDS.
To associate an active ingredient with a PDS:

In the PDS tree on the
Product Detail Set page, expand the tree node for a component, and then right-click the
Active Ingredients node and choose
Add Active Ingredient.
The
Add Active Ingredient page opens in the right pane.
Note: You can add only those active ingredients that exist under the component and are deleted from the PDS. You cannot add a new active ingredient directly from the PDS.

Enter values for the active ingredient PDS attributes.

Click
Save.
The active ingredient appears in the PDS tree under the
Active Ingredient node and the
Active Ingredient Detail Attributes page opens in the right pane.

After associating an active ingredient with a PDS, you can:
- Associate a manufacturer with the active ingredient.
- Associate a manufacturing process with the active ingredient.
