Create a PDS

You create a product detail set (PDS) specifically for an event to maintain the history of regulatory changes to the component and product details.

To create a PDS, you must have a Product Detail Management (PDM) license with at least WRITE privileges and WRITE privileges for the PDS entity.
You can create a PDS:
  • By using the Manage PDS wizard.
  • Directly, by accessing an event. See the following procedure.
To create a product detail set directly:
  1. Click a link for the event for which you want to create the PDS.
    The Event Attributes page appears.
  2. Click Product Detail Set, then click Create.
  3. Enter values for the PDS attributes.
  4. Save.
  5. Choose the applicable procedure to enter an electronic signature for entities:
    Scenario Steps
    When electronic signature is enabled
    1. Select a reason and enter comments for the reason.
    2. Select Save.
    3. Validate your identity by entering your user credentials in the dialog box.
