Reference Attributes

The attributes and their descriptions enable you to choose and enter the appropriate attribute values while creating references.
The following conditions apply while defining the links:
  • When creating a URL link, the link must begin with the http://prefix.
  • When creating a DMS link, you cannot target a folder. You must link to a file in a file system or DMS.
  • You must be logged in to Documentum before hyperlinks to Documentum content will work.
Attribute Description
Action The name of the item created as a result of the correspondence.
Action Link The link to the item; click Select to locate and choose the action.
Action Link Type The type of entity associated with the link (assembly, DMS, or URL).
Content The content for the reference.
Entity Association The type of entity the reference is associated with.
Entity Name Name of the entity for which you are creating the reference.
Family Code The code of the product family which this reference is associated.
Family Name The name of the product family which this reference is associated.
Origination The correspondence associated with the reference.
Origination Link The link to the correspondence; click Select to locate and choose the correspondence.
Origination Link Type The type of entity associated with the link (assembly, DMS, or URL).
Participant The person who the reference is from or for.
Reason Reason for creating, modifying or deleting a reference.
Reason for Comments Comments related to reason entered by users.
Reference Add Comment Comments you want to share with others in a discussion thread; stamped with the date and time you enter the information and your user ID.
Reference Comments The discussion thread that includes all comments entered by users; includes the date and time the comments were entered and the user ID of the person who entered them. Comments are displayed when you modify the entity.
Reference Concerned Parties Users who may be copied on notifications about this entity. Use semi-colons (;) to separate e-mail addresses.
Reference Description The description of the reference.
Reference Keywords Words you can use to search for the reference.
Reference Link The link to the reference; click Select to locate and choose the reference.
Reference Link Type The type of entity associated with the link (assembly, DMS, or URL).
Reference Name Name of the reference. The reference name must be unique within its parent entity.
Reference Status The status of the reference.
Reference Status Date The date the reference status is effective.
Type The type of reference you are creating.
User ID The user name to validate user identity.
Password The user password to validate user identity.
