Copy a Product

You can copy a product to add another product in the same product family or to a different product family. Ennov InSight copies the attributes, components and product detail set templates from the source product. The Concerned Parties attribute does not copy to the target product or component.

You should have at least Write permission for Products to be able to copy a product. Product Detail Set (PDS) templates will only be copied if you have at least Write permission for PDS Templates.

— If the Product Family type of the Source Product is Pharmaceutical, the target Product Family type must be Pharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical Medical Device.

— If the Product Family type of the Source Product is Medical Device, the target Product Family type must be Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Medical Device

— If the Product Family type of the Source Product is Pharmaceutical Medical Device, the target Product Family type must be Pharmaceutical Medical Device.

To copy a product:

  1. Click the link for the product you want to copy.
  2. On the Product Attributes page, click Copy.

    After the copy process is complete, you are returned to the Product Attributes page of the source product that you copied.

  3. Click the Family Name link.

    Modify a Product

    The Product Family Attributes page appears.

  4. On the Products tab, the new product is listed with Copy <#> of pretended to the name of the source product you copied, where <#> represents the number of times you have copied the source product.
  5. To change the name of the new product as well as other product attributes, click the link of the new product to open the Product Attributes page, and then click Edit.

The Modify Product Attributes page appears.
