Update Tasks and Sub-tasks

You can update the attributes for tasks and sub-tasks at one time.

You can perform this procedure if you have WRITE privileges for the task entity and you are the assignee or assigner of the task, or if you have Administrator privileges.

To modify tasks and sub-tasks:

  1. Navigate to the entity that has the associated task that you want to modify.
  2. On the entity's attribute page, click Tasks.
  3. Click the task name link for the task you want to modify.The View Task page appears.
  4. Click Edit.The Update Task wizard opens to the Select Tasks and Sub-Tasks page, listing the task from which the wizard was launched with its associated sub-tasks.
  5. Select one or more tasks and sub-tasks.
  6. Click Next.The Update Task Attributes page appears.
  7. Modify one or more task attributes by clicking the check box next to the attribute field and then specifying a value. With regard to the task attribute fields:
    Option Description
    If you select a check box and leave the associated field blank: The attribute will be updated with a blank value.
    If you select a check box for a field marked by an asterisk: the wizard will require a selection in the associated field:
  8. Click Next.A confirmation page describes the actions that will be taken.
  9. Choose the applicable procedure in the table below to enter an electronic signature in wizards:
    Scenario Steps
    When electronic signature is enabled
    1. In the confirmation page, select a reason and enter comments for the reason.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Validate your identity by entering your user credentials in the dialog box.
  1. Click Next.The Summary page confirms the actions taken.
  2. Click Finish.Upon completion, you are returned to the View Task page for the task that you just updated.
