Add a Linked System

Use the following procedure to add an URL for an external system to the Calyx RIM.

To add a Linked System URL:
  1. Log on to Calyx RIM as an administrator.
  2. In the Calyx RIM menus, click GoTo > Technical Administration.
  3. In the Available Options list, click Linked Systems.
  4. In the Linked Systems view, click Create.
  5. For Display Name, type the name of the URL you are adding.
    This name should be unique within the system. You can type up to 30 characters.
  6. For URL, type the link to the external system.
    You can enter up to 4000 characters. The Active Flag default setting is Y for active, so the linked system is active as soon as it is added to Calyx RIM. Linked systems can be deactivated or activated again at any time after configuration.
  7. For Limit Access to Specific Users, select No if the access to this linked system should not be limited and go to step 10.
  8. To allow repository access to defined users or groups or roles, select Yes from the Limit Access to Specific Users and proceed to the next step.
  9. Do the following:
    • To permit access to specific users: In the Allow Selected Users section, select users in the Access Limited box and click the arrows (>>) to move them to the Access Allowed box.
    • To permit access to specific groups: In the Allow Selected Groups section, select groups  in the Access Limited box and click the arrows (>>) to move them to the Access Allowed box.
    • To permit access to users with specific roles: In the Allow Selected Roles section, select roles in the Access Limited box and click the arrows (>>) to move them to the Access Allowed box.
  10. To save the new Linked System settings, click Save.
