Creating a Role

The system allows the creation of multiple roles with the same display name. However, this does not affect the behavior of the functionality. To avoid any confusion, it is recommended to give a unique display name to every role created in Calyx RIM.

Note: If you want to use the field-level/page-level security feature in Calyx RIM, you must create a role.
To create a role:
  1. Choose Go To > Security Administration.
    The Security Administration page opens listing all the users and groups.
  2. On the Security Administration page, click 
  3. On the Create Role wizard window, enter a name for the role in the Display Name box.
  4. Click the XML-mapped Role arrow and choose the XML mapped role to associate with this role.
  5. Choose users and/or groups from the Users/Groups Available box and move them to the Selected box to associate them with the role.
  6. The list of available users is limited to the following: overridden users, users who do not belong to any IdP group, users who have been added to Calyx RIM and who do not already belong to a role.
  7. The list of available groups includes groups that have been added to Calyx RIM and who do not already belong to a role.
  8. Click Next. The wizard confirms the creation of the role.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. Repeat steps 2  through 7 for each role you need to create.
