Configure Report Server Security Pass Through and ReportCaster E-mail

  1. From Windows Explorer, right-click on This PC and select Properties > Advanced System Settings > Environment Variables.
    1. Double-click the PATH System variable, and append the following to the PATH environment variable: install location\WebFOCUS_Express80\jre\bin
    2. Click OK three times to save the change and exit System Properties.
  2. Log on to the WebFOCUS Administration Console as Express Administrator: http://localhost:25000/ibi_apps/console/webfocusconsole.jsp?showall
  3. Select Reporting Servers > Remote Services, select the EDASERVE node, and click Modify.
    1. Select Security > Trusted and change Default to Trusted
    2. Ensure that the Pass WebFocus User ID and their Groups option is selected.
    3. Click Save
    4. Close the WebFOCUS Administration Console
  4. From an administrative command prompt run: <install location>\WebFOCUS_Express80\WebFOCUS\ReportCaster\bin\exportcfg.bat
  5. Open <install location>\WebFOCUS_Express80\WebFOCUS\ReportCaster\cfg\dserver.xml in a text editor as administrator, and change the following values:
    Parameter Value
    <passthrough></passthrough> YES
    <email_from></email_from> <server name>
    <email_reply_address></email_reply_address> <admin email address>
    <mail_host></mail_host> <mail server>
    <notify_mail_host></notify_mail_host> <mail server>
    <excelservurl></excelservurl> Remove the shown URL.
  6. Click Save, and close the text editor.
  7. Restart ALL WebFOCUS services.
  8. From a command prompt, run: <install location>\WebFOCUS_Express80\WebFOCUS\ReportCaster\bin\importcfg.bat
  9. Logon to WebFocus Administration Console as Express Administrator: http://127.0.0.1:25000/ibi_apps/console/webfocusconsole.jsp?showall
  10. Select ReportCaster > Configuration, and modify the following settings:
    Filed Name Value
    Default Mail From: Optional Text displayed in E-mail From field
    Default Mail Reply Address: Optional E-mail address of Express Administrator
    Mail Host: <mail server name> or <IP address>
    Secure SSL connection: No, unless required
    Secure TLS connection: No, unless required
    Authentication: No, unless required
    SMTP User: Empty, unless required
    SMTP Password: Empty, unless required
    Notify Mail Host: <mail server name> or <IP address>
    Excel Server URL: Empty
  11. Click Save and restart the WebFOCUS Express 80 Distribution Server service.
  12. Open a command prompt and run: <install location>\WebFOCUS_Express80\WebFOCUS\ReportCaster\bin\exportcfg.bat
