Modify a Product Family

You can modify a product family to change its attributes or its active ingredients.

The attributes you can modify for a product family depend on the product family type.

For example, PSUR attributes, which are available for a pharmaceutical product family, do not apply to a medical device product family, so they are not available on the Modify Product Family page.

To modify a product family:
  1. Click a link for the product family you want to modify.
  2. On the Product Family Attributes page, click Edit.
    The Modify Product Family page opens.
  3. Choose or enter attributes.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Save.
    • Save and Add Product to save your changes and create a product associated with the product family.
  5. Choose the applicable procedure to enter an electronic signature for entities:
    Scenario Steps
    When electronic signature and SSO are enabled
    1. Select a reason and enter comments for the reason.
    2. Select Save.
    3. Validate your identity by entering your user credentials in the dialog box.
    When electronic signature is enabled and SSO is disabled
    1. Select a reason and enter comments for the reason.
    2. Enter user ID and password and click Save.
