Modify Component Packaging for a Package Set PDS Project

Using the Global Project Planning (GPP) wizard, you can modify packaging for a component in a package set. The changes you make with the wizard are applied to all approved package set component packaging details that you select.

Note: The procedure below is a continuation of the Update Product Detail Sets project type in the GPP wizard. The procedure presented in Creating an Update Product Detail Set Project must be initiated first.
To modify component packaging for a package set on the Select Action page of the GPP wizard:
  1. Select Modify Component Packaging for Package Set on the Select Action page.
  2. Click Next.
    The Select Packaging page appears.
  3. On the Select Packaging page, do the following:
    1. Select one or more packaging categories.
    2. Select one or more packaging types.
  4. Click Next.
    The Select Package Set Component Packaging page appears, listing only PDSs that have approved package sets and approved packaging details that were selected in the previous screen.
  5. Select one or more PDSs.
  6. Click Next.
    The Modify Package Set Component Packaging Details page appears, presenting the options to change the packaging comments, keywords, and description. Making entries on this page is optional. If you want to make changes, go to step 7. If you do not want to make changes, go to step 8.
  7. Select the check box next to the attribute you want to change.
    1. Enter text in the available field.
      If you select an attribute and leave the associated field blank, the package set component packaging will be updated with a blank value.
    Note: Only the property attributes that you select are updated. The values for unselected property attributes remain unchanged.
  8. Click Next.
    The Perform Another PDS Action page appears.
  9. On the Perform Another PDS Action page, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to perform another update PDS action.
    • Click No to proceed to the Summary page of the GPP wizard.
  10. Click Next.
    One of the following occurs:
    • If you selected Yes in step 9, you return to the Select Action page of the GPP wizard.
    • If you selected No in step 9, the Summary page appears. Go to step 11.
  11. On the Summary page, do one of the following:
    • Select the project link on the Summary page to review the new project you created.
    • Click Finish. You are returned to the view from which you invoked the GPP wizard.
  12. To view the project after closing the GPP wizard, click Home > Projects.
  13. Click the link for the project you just created to open the Project Attributes page.
  14. Navigate to the PDS to view the modified details.
