Add a Package Set Packaging Manufacturer

Using the Global Project Planning (GPP) wizard, you can add a package set packaging manufacturer to selected PDSs.

The following rules determine the PDS Details that are available for selection.

Packaging details
  • All approved packaging details for each approved package set associated with PDSs previously selected in the project.
  • Approved packaging details available for selection are limited by packaging categories and packaging types criteria defined in Data Administration > Product Detail Set Maintenance > Packaging Type Values or Packaging Category Values.
    Note: You cannot create more than one Packaging with the same Packaging Category and Packaging Type.
Manufacturers
  • Manufacturers with an active association with each of the selected functions in Data Administration > Product Detail Set Maintenance > Manufacturer Values.
  • Manufacturers that do not already exist as a pending or approved manufacturer for any of the selected packaging details.
Note: This procedure is a continuation of the Update Product Details Sets project in the GPP wizard. The procedure presented in Creating an Update Product Detail Set Project must be initiated first, followed by initiating Adding a Manufacturer PDS Project.
To add a package set packaging manufacturer:
  1. On the Select Flow page of the GPP wizard, select Add Package Set Packaging Manufacturer.
  2. Click Next.
    The first Add Package Set Packaging Manufacturer page opens.
  3. On the Add Package Set Packaging Manufacturer page:
    1. Select one or more packaging categories.
    2. Select one or more packaging types.
  4. Click Next.
    The second Add Package Set Packaging Manufacturer page opens, listing the approved package set packaging for the previously selected PDSs.
  5. Select one or more from the list, then click Next.
    The third Add Package Set Packaging Manufacturer page opens.
  6. Select a manufacturer, then click Next.
    The Perform Another PDS Action page opens.
  7. On the Perform Another PDS Action page, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to perform another PDS action.
    • Click No to proceed to the Summary page of the GPP wizard.
  8. Click Next.
    One of the following occurs:
    • If you selected Yes in step 7, you return to the Select Action page of the GPP wizard. If you perform another add package set packaging manufacturer action, the previously selected packaging category and packaging type remain selected.
    • If you selected No in step 7, the Summary page opens. Proceed to the next step.
  9. On the Summary page, do one of the following:
    • Select the project link on the Summary page to review the new project you created.
    • Click Finish. You are returned to the view from which you invoked the GPP wizard.
    In the PDS tree, the added manufacturer appears as a child node of the packaging node, which is a child node of the package set. The status of the added manufacturer is Pending Add and is displayed in parentheses after the name of the manufacturer.
