Installing Liquent InSight Rendering 4.4

  1. Verify the following for the installation user account:
    1. The account is a Windows domain user account placed in the Administrators group on the server.
    2. That this account is the same one used to install all prerequisite software for the server.
    3. This account will be referred to as local administrator.
    Note: The account name may only contain the standard Latin 256 characters.
  2. Verify appropriate TCP/IP network access. (Enter NA for all items below that are not applicable.)
    1. Ping the InSight Rendering Rendering Server by hostname.
    2. Enter the hostname of the InSight Rendering Server: ___________________________________________
    3. The InSight Rendering Server is going to be communicating with an Oracle Database on another network server. Ping that server by hostname. Enter the following information about the Database Server:
    4. Host Name_______________________ DB Type_________________________ DB version_______________________ Database Name___________________
  3. Verify that the server’s operating system is set to optimize Applications/Programs (not background services).
    1. Select Start, right click on This PC, select Properties.
    2. Select the Advanced tab and click the Performance button.
    3. On the Visual Effects tab, select the Adjust for best performance radio button.
    4. On the Advanced tab, select the Adjust for best performance of Programs radio button.
    5. Select OK twice.
  4. Disable Data Execution Prevention:
    1. Select Start > Run and type cmd.
    2. Type bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff and press Enter.
    3. You will have to reboot the server for this change to take effect.  You can do that now or wait until the server configuration is complete.
    Note: You may skip this step if it cannot be performed.
  5. Verify that Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is not configured.
  6. Launch Server Manager.
    1. In the tree on the left, select the Local Server.
    2. Under the Properties section, select IE Enhanced Security Configuration.
    3. Select Off for both Administrators and Users.
    4. Click OK to apply your changes.
