If you are upgrading and the Liquent PS Printer already exists, remove it as follows:
Go to
Control Panel, View
Devices and printers.
Right-click on the
Liquent PS Printer and select
Remove device.
Click
Yes
at the
Remove Device confirmation.
Create a new folder called
LiquentPSPrinter .
It can be anywhere on the server, but it is recommended to be in the service account’s local user directory, i.e.,
C:\Users\<service_account_user>.
Select
Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
Click
The Printer that I want isn’t listed.
Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click
Next.
Select the
Create a new port option and select
Local Port for the
Type of port. Click
Next.
On the
Port Name dialog box, in the
Enter a port name field, enter an existing local directory path, including a file name with a .ps extension (e.g.,
C:\Users\<service_account_user>\LiquentPSPrinter\pdf2ps.ps). Click
OK. Click
Next.
On the
Install the printer driver dialog box, click
Have Disk… and browse to the location of the postscript printer driver (the installation files location in the
LiquentPSPrinter folder) and select the
LIQTPS.inf file. Click
Open, and then click
OK
and
Next.
On the
Type a printer name dialog box, do not change the Printer name from
Liquent PS Printer. Click
Next.
If you get a Windows Security prompt asking
Would you like to install this device software?, select the
Install
button.
On the
Printer Sharing page, choose
Do not Share this Printer. Click
Next.
On the
You’ve successfully added a printer page, do not choose
Set as default printer. Click
Finish.
