Disable User Account Control (UAC)

  1. While still in the Local Security Policy dialog, select Security Options in the tree.
  2. In the right pane, right-click User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode and select Properties.
  3. In the Local Security Setting tab, select the Disabled radio button.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Close the Local Security Policy dialog.
Note: If you choose Action Center to change or view the UAC settings, you must Cancel out of that dialog. Clicking OK, even if you do not make any changes, will change this value to Enabled.
For changes to take effect, you must reboot the system. You may do this now or later, after you have completed all the configuration steps.
