Configuring Windows Local Security Policy: Windows 8.1

If you are using Windows 8.1, the local security policy must be configured to access Viewing.

  1. On the Start window, click Control Panel or press the Windows + q keys simultaneously.
  2. Click Administrative tools and double-click Local Security Policy.
  3. In the left pane, select Local Policies and double-click Security Options.
  4. From the list of policies, double-click Network security: LAN Manager authentication level.
  5. On the Local Security Setting tab, select Send LM & NTLM responses from the drop-down list.
  6. Click OK.
  7. From the list of policies, double-click Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers.
  8. Select the option Require 128-bit encryption.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Close the Local Security Policy window.
