Instructions to prepare your system and install Calyx RIM Viewing 5.5.8.

These installation guidelines are current as of 20-JAN-2022.

This page can be used as a reference to install or upgrade your Calyx RIM Viewing from version 5.5 CHF 7 to 5.5.8.
Note: Calyx RIM Viewing 5.5.8 is supported with Oracle 19c (12.2.0.3) only.

Prepare to Install and Upgrade

Follow these instructions to upgrade to Calyx RIM Viewing 5.5.8.

Step Action Resource
1 Before starting install or upgrade procedures please review the Calyx RIM Viewing System Support Documentation (SSD) to make sure that all system hardware and software components are compatible with the upgrade. System Support Documentation

2 This sub-minor release package should be installed on each Calyx RIM Viewing server in your environment.

Copy all the files that are being replaced to another location, such as a shared network drive, for backup purposes.

3 Verify that:
  • Oracle is upgraded to Oracle 19c (12.2.0.3) (only applicable if you are using Oracle Database)
  • Apache Tomcat 9.x (64-bit) is installed.
  • AdoptOpenJDK - OpenJDK jdk8u202-b08 (64-bit) is installed.

4 If you are using Oracle Database, verify that all the Oracle configuration modifications are performed on your database server before migrating any data and before installing Calyx RIM Viewing 5.5.8.
Note: MSSQL does not require update.

5 Create a database.
  • If you are using Oracle Database, refer to Create an Oracle Database
  • If you are using MSSQL Database, refer to Create MSSQL Database
6 If you are migrating the database from the previous version, use the migration tool provided with this release. For further information, refer to the Data Migration Documentation. Select the instructions according to the version of Calyx RIM Viewing you are using.

Install Calyx RIM Viewing 5.5.8

3 Depending on the authentication type you use, follow the specific instructions provided on the installation qualifications.
  • To set up Database Authentication type, follow the instructions in Database Authentication Installation Qualification.
  • To set up the LDAP Authentication type, follow the instructions in LDAP Authentication Installation Qualification
  • To set up LDAP Authentication Only type, follow the instructions in Hybrid LDAP Authentication Installation Qualification
  • To set up IdP Authentication type, follow the instructions in IdP Authentication Installation Qualification
  • To set up IdP Authentication Only type, follow the instructions in Hybrid IdP Authentication Installation Qualification
