Windows 8.1 Local Security Policy Configuration
- On the Start screen, click Control Panel or press the Windows + q keys simultaneously.
- Click Administrative tools and double-click Local Security Policy.
- In the left pane, select Local Policies and double-click Security Options.
- From the list of policies that are displayed, find Network security: LAN Manager authentication level and double-click on it.
- On the Local Security Setting tab, select Send LM & NTLM responses from the drop-down list.
- Click OK.
- From the policies list, double-click Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers.
- Select the option Require 128-bit encryption.
- Click OK.
- Close the Local Security Policy window.
