SmartLink for Word Prerequisites

Ensure that there are no current or previous versions of the Linking add-in (Word) application installed on the client.

The person installing the application must have Local Administrator privileges for the client installations. That person must also know the name of the company/organization for the client installation and the location of the installation drives on the client for the client applications.
