SmartDesk for Authoring General Information
The Liquent SmartDesk ribbon tab in Word provides all SmartDesk functions and options in a convenient, efficient location.
The Liquent SmartDesk window is an independent application (non-modal state) window that alows for authoring on the document while the application is still opened. When the Liquent SmartDesk window is opened, it is associated with the document that currently has focus. Liquent SmartDesk for Authoring must be closed before it can be used in a different Word document.
Tooltips
Action areas within Liquent SmartDesk window display tooltip text that appears when your pointer is positioned over these areas. Action areas include tabs, text boxes, check boxes, option buttons, and command buttons.
Last Completed Action
Your actions within Liquent SmartDesk window, such as tab selection, check box option selection, and option button selection, are recorded into the Windows system registry. When the Liquent SmartDesk window is closed, the options that were selected last will be the default selections the next time the application is launched.
When a function is performed through Liquent SmartDesk window, the Last Action Completed – the time and name of the function executed – appears at the bottom of the window. When a function is performed using the Liquent SmartDesk ribbon, you may not receive a confirmation message.
Liquent SmartDesk for Authoring messages
When the execution of a Liquent SmartDesk for Authoring function generates an error, an error message appears, providing an error code and a description of the cause of the error.
When the execution or cancellation of a function provides feedback, an information message appears and provides you with the necessary information.
When the execution of a function requires your input, a message displays the input required for you to continue with the function.
