Use the
Cross Linker tool to automate the internal and external linking process using the keywords you define.
Cross Linker searches for the keywords and creates links around them to the specified destination.
To create links using Cross Linker:

Select
.
The
Cross Linker window opens.

To use the currently active document in Acrobat, click
Load Active Document. Move to step 4.

To select a different document click the ellipses/browse button next to the
Source Document field.

Navigate to the desired file and click
OK to close the window and add the document to the
Cross Linker window.

Make changes as necessary using the available options.
This opens the
Select File window.

Click on
Keyword.

Using the cross hair that appears, draw a box around the word/phrase to create link.

In the Add Link Information window, make changes as necessary to the keyword and keyword color and do one of the following:
- Select the
File option, choose the destination file using the ellipses/browse button. Enter the page number in the
Page No field to link to the specific page of the file.
- Select the
World Wide Web Link option, enter the web link in the text box.

Click on
OK.
The added keywords and its link details will be displayed in the table.

Click on
Apply to create links to the keywords.
The resulting message box displays the number of links created.

Click
OK to close this window.
Note: Depending upon your version of Adobe Acrobat and the settings you establish within it, if a source document is open and you open a different document, a message indicates that the source document has changed. This message appears only to ensure you are aware that the tool is now referring to a source document that differs from the original. It does not signify that the source document has been modified.
