Preparing to Create a Cumulative XML Backbone

As you prepare to create a XML backbone, keep in mind the following:

You must have exported the index.xml and jp-regional-index.xml, maintaining the folder/file hierarchy, for the two sequences you plan to concatenate.

If you indicate that a noncumulative sequence (where xlink:href values are relative to the backbone file) is cumulative (xlink:href values are relative to the submission number folder), CVB does not append sequence numbers to the references (hrefs) of leaf file elements in the previous sequence. Navigation to these elements from the cumulative backbone will fail.

When a new sequence is created in LIQUENT InSight after an import but the previous accumulative sequences are not available, the sequences must be altered to allow a restart of the CVB mid-sequence. This is done by CVB, which renames the jp-regional-index.xml to c-jp-regional-index.xml, and renames the index.xml to c-index.xml. This is done for the most recent sequence in the lifecycle.

  1. Sequence 0025 is the most recent sequence, and this sequence was imported into InSight.
  2. Sequence 0026 is published with InSight.
  3. 0025\m1\jp\jp-regional-index.xml is renamed to 0025\m1\jp\c-jp-regional-index.xml.
  4. 0025\index.xml is renamed to 0025\c-index.xml.
  5. When CVB is run, a new cumulative c-jp-regional-index.xml is created in the output folder.
