Copy a Task and Associated Sub-tasks
If you have WRITE privileges for tasks, you can copy a task and its sub-tasks.
Use this procedure to copy a task and all of its sub-tasks to:
- The same Calyx RIM entity
- Itself as a sub-task of the source task
- Other open events for which you have at least READ privileges to the related application country
To copy a task:
- View the entity that has the associated task you want to copy.
- On the entity attribute page, click Tasks.
- Click the link for task you want to copy. The View Task page appears.
-
Click
Copy.
The Copy Task wizard opens to the Task Destination page.
-
In the
Destination drop-down list, select one of the following:
- Select Same As Source to create a sibling task for the same entity. After clicking Next, the wizard displays a message indicating that no further input is necessary. Proceed to step 10.
- Select As Sub-Task of Source Task to copy a task to itself as a sub-task. After clicking Next, the wizard displays a message indicating that no further input is necessary. Proceed to step 10.
- Select Event to copy the task to different event, and then proceed to step 6.
-
Click
Next.
The Enter Event Search Criteria page appears.
- On the Enter Event Search Criteria page, select values to refine the search for a destination event.
-
Click
Next.
The Select Event page appears.
- Select one event as the destination for the copied task.
-
Click
Next.
The first Task Attributes page appears.
-
Do the following:
- In the Task Name field, specify the name you want for the copied task. This applies only to the parent task, not to any sub-tasks.
- Use the Task Status Date field to change the date from the date set for the original task, if needed.
- Use the Task Attributes selection boxes to specify any of the optional attributes you want to be copied with the task. By default, none of the optional attributes are copied.
- If you want to copy the task type and secondary task type to the destination task, select Copy Task and Secondary Task Type. If you select this option, the Copy Task Status Schedule option appears.
- If you want to copy the task status schedule from the source task and sub-tasks to the destination task and sub-tasks, select Copy Task Status Schedule. Only the statuses and projected dates are copied. Actual dates are not copied. This option is available only when Copy Task and Secondary Task Type is selected.
- If you want to copy all sub-tasks associated with the original task to the destination task, select Copy All Sub-Tasks.
- If you want to copy the references from the source task and sub-task to the destination task, select Copy All References.
- Use the Number of Copies field to enter the number of times you want the task copied. The default is 001, but you can choose as many as 50 copies.
- Use the Task Name Starting Number field to determine the first number the wizard will use to assign identifiers for each of the copied tasks. For example, if you choose to make two copies of a task and use 005 as the starting number, the task name of the first copy will be appended with 005 and the second as 006.
-
Click
Next.
The second Task Attributes page appears. If you selected Copy Task and Secondary Task Type on the previous page, the wizard displays a message indicating that no input is needed on that page.
-
If you did not choose that option, do the following:
- Select a Task Type to further identify the task. This setting is optional.
- Select a Secondary Task Type. This setting is also optional.
-
Click

- Set to Person Performing the Copy - The primary assignee for the destination task and sub-tasks is set to the user performing the copy.
- Select from a List of Active InSight Users - After clicking Next, you are presented with a drop-list all active Calyx RIM users. Select a user as the primary assignee for the task and sub-tasks from that list.
