PDS Templates
You can create a product detail set (PDS) template for creating other PDSs for products in the same product family.
The process of creating a PDS template is similar to creating a PDS. The attributes of the details in a PDS template are identical to the PDS detail attributes with the following exceptions:
- No application is associated with the PDS template.
- No event is associated with the PDS template.
- Status and Status Date fields are not included in PDS template details. This exception is applicable for all PDS Details.
- No countries are associated with the PDS template. The country detail entity that appears in the PDS template is named Country.
- For any occurrence of a Manufacturer detail entity in a PDS hierarchy tree, the Countries attribute is not applicable.
- For Label details, the Label Country attribute is not applicable. The name of a label detail entity is derived by concatenating the word “Country” to the Label Type and Label Code attribute values.
- For Indication/Intended Use and Species Indication details, the Countries attribute is not applicable.
You can create a PDS template from a product listed on the Product Attributes page, from an existing PDS, or from another PDS template.
When creating a PDS template from an existing PDS or another PDS template:
- The product associated with the source PDS or PDS template cannot have more than one component.
- The target product for the PDS template you are creating cannot have more than one component.
- The target product for the PDS template you are creating must be associated with the same product family as the source PDS or PDS template.
