Page Stamper Options

Option Description
Create backup Select this option and click Apply to make copies of the original PDF file for each stamp, which helps to restore the original source document.
Current Page Select this option to apply page stamping to the current page of the document.
All Pages Select this option to apply page stamping to all pages of the document.
Load Active Document Use this option to load the currently active document in Acrobat.
Pages Select this option to apply page stamping to a desired range of pages in the document.  In the adjacent boxes, enter the first and last page numbers of the desired page range. To apply page stamping to the document, click Apply.
Batch Process

You can use this option to add or delete headers or footers to all the PDF documents in a folder. Select any text for header/footer settings and click Batch Process to open the Page Stamper By-Batch window. By default, this option is disabled for the header/footer text selection None.

  • Input Folder - Use this option to select the folder that has the PDF documents for which you want to use the Page Stamper options. Click on ellipses (browse) button and browse for the folder or you can type the path of the folder in the text box. Check the "Include Sub Folders" option to make changes to the documents in the sub folder(s).
  • Log File - You can create a file using this option to record the changes you make to the PDF documents in a folder using the Page Stamper option such as for example, when performing an activity like as adding or deleting header/footer. The log file records information like the user name, date, time, changes made such as, for example, the activity of adding a header and the associated file name and path with that activity. Check the Append if exists option to add the new log activity in the existing log file.
Header/Footer Options The Header/Footer Options lets you create a customized template for headers and footers. Creating a template lets you re-use frequently used settings, so that you do not have to re-enter them each time.
Template The default templates are US Letter and A4. Up to 8 additional custom templates can be added.
Units This drop down option displays the units option for the header/footer. The options are Inches, Centimeters, Millimeters, and Points.
Mode

This drop down option displays the mode for the header/footer options. The options are View/Display, Portrait and Landscape. 

  • View/Display Mode: Select this option to apply a header and/or footer at the top and/or bottom of the page regardless of its orientation.
  • Portrait Mode: Select this option to stamp a header/footer horizontally at the top and bottom of a page in a portrait format. Refer to the Portrait mode illustration provided below.
  • Landscape Mode: Select this option to stamp a header/footer vertically at the top and bottom of the page in a landscape format. Refer to the Landscape mode illustration provided below:
Page Number Template Use this option to select a page number format:
  • X - Example: 10
  • X of Y - Example: 10 of 20
  • X/Y - Example: 10/20
  • Page X - Example: Page 10
  • Page X of Y - Example: Page 10 of 20
Start Page Number Use this option to repaginate a document.
Save Template

Select this option to save a template.

  • Default - Select this check box to use a template as a default template. You can also use the option Use Template as Default.
Delete Template Use this option to delete unwanted templates.
Note: Deleting the US Letter and A4 templates is not allowed. When a default custom template is deleted, the US Letter template will become the default template.
Left Header Settings Edit this section to add a header at the top left position of the page.
Center Header Settings Edit this section to add a header at the top center position of the page.
Right Header Settings

Edit this section to add a header at the top right position of the page. The common header settings are provided below. Header Text:  

  • File Name - Stamps the name of the file.
  • Document Title - Stamps the document title.
  • Type your own text - Stamps the text you enter under this option as the header. Refer to the Example 1 provided below for further understanding of this feature.
  • None - Does not stamp any header.
Replace Existing Optional selection. Select this option to replace the existing header text.
Text Position

From Left - Stamps the header from the left margin of the document according to the settings you specify.

From Top - Stamps the header from the top margin of the document according to the settings you specify.

From Right - Stamps the header from the right margin of the document according to the settings you specify.

Width - Limits the width of the header in a single line. If the header is longer than the specified width, it automatically continues in the next line.

Remember: If the values entered exceed the page size an error message is displayed.
Font Settings

Font Face - You can specify the font style you prefer for the header using the Font Face.

Font Size - You can specify the font size you prefer for the header using the Font Size.

Font Color - You can specify the font color you prefer for the header using the Font Color.

Left Footer Settings Edit this section to add a footer at the bottom left position of the page.
Center Footer Settings Edit this section to add a footer at the bottom center position of the page.
Right Footer Settings Edit this section to add a footer at the bottom right position of the page.
Footer Text Refer to the Header Text settings.
Replace Existing Optional selection. Select this option to replace the existing footer text.
Text Position

From Bottom - Stamps the footer from the bottom margin of the document according to the settings you specify.

The other settings are the same as that of the Header Text Position settings.

Delete Header and Footer Use the Header or Footer option under Delete Header and Footer section to select a specific portion of a header or a footer to delete.
Delete Header Use this option to delete the selected header section.
Delete Footer Use this option to delete the selected footer section.
View Log Select this option to view the log file information.
Apply Select this option to start the process of stamping headers and footers.
Cancel Select the Cancel option to exit the window without making any changes.
