Active Ingredients for Components

Associate active ingredients to a product at a component level.

It is not mandatory for a component to have active ingredients.

The following guidelines apply when associating an active ingredient to a component:
  • You must have the same user privileges required for adding a product.
  • The component type must be pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical-medical device, or veterinary, and the product family type for the associated product family must be flu vaccine, pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical-medical device, or veterinary.
  • You can have the same active ingredients in multiple components for the same product.
  • Only the active ingredients that are associated at the product family level are available for associating to the components.
  • You cannot associate active ingredients with a component once a PDS template or application is associated with a product.
