Notification Types

Different notification types are used to notify users of various events that occur when working with applications.

A notification can be triggered when the following occur:

  • A value changes - A notification is sent to specified users when the value for the attribute you choose in the wizard is modified.
  • A status changes to a specific value - A notification is sent to specified users when a status value is changed to the status you choose in the wizard. If you want to create a notification for an event-country status change, you must select the event-country status schedule as the descendant in the wizard. It is the event-country status schedule that tracks status changes for events.Note: When a notification for When a value changes is created for the EudraCT number on a CTA application, the field label on the notification is the Application Code rather than the EudraCT Number.
  • A date approaches or passes - A notification is sent when a date you choose in the wizard is approaching or has passed. You can also have the notification sent repeatedly for the specified number of days.
  • A new record is created - This is a global notification by default. This option is not available for specific instances of entities.

Notes Concerning Notification Types

For date-based notification types, Ennov InSight uses GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and sends an e-mail only if GMT matches the criteria set in the notification. This happens for both the automated check that occurs every day (which is the same time the server was started) and when you click Check for Date Based Notifications on the Notification Specifications page under data administration.
