Installing SmartLink for Word

  1. Log on to the client machine as <name>.
  2. Proceed as follows:
    • If you are going to run Liquent SmartLink for Word from a Java sandbox (ex: Webtop), proceed to the next step.
    • If you are not going to run Liquent SmartLink for Word from a Java sandbox, proceed to Step 14.
  3. Copy the CLASSPATH environment variable. Click Start > Control Panel > System.
  4. Click the Advanced System Settings tab.
    The System Properties window appears.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, and then click the Environment Variables button.
    The Environment Variables window appears.
  6. In the System Variables list, select ClassPath and click the Edit button below the list.
    The Edit System Variable window appears.
  7. Highlight the paths to the dctm.jar file and the Documentum config directory and copy their contents.
    Example:

    <DocumentumInstallPath>\dctm.jar

    <documentumInstallDrive>\Documentum\config

  8. Press the Cancel button on the three dialog windows to close them, and then close the Control Panel window.
  9. Run Regedit.exe.
  10. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Documentum > Components > DJCB.
  11. Double click on ClassPath.
    The Edit String window appears.
  12. In the Value data: field, paste the contents copied in Step 7 and click OK.
  13. Close Regedit.exe.
    If any products that use the DFC are open, relaunch them.
  14. Create a folder in: <install drive>:/Installs/ named SmartLinkforWord.
  15. Copy the LIQUENT SmartLink for Word installation files from the installation media to the SmartLinkforWord folder on the client.
  16. In the SmartLinkforWord folder, double-click the setup.exe installer file.
  17. On the Welcome page, click Next.
  18. In the Customer Information dialog box, enter the following information:
    1. In the User Name field, enter <name>.
    2. In the Company Name field, enter <company name>.
  19. Click Next.
  20. In the Choose Destination Location dialog box, click Next.
  21. In the Start Copying Files dialog box, click Next.
  22. Check the settings before starting the installation, and then click Next to start the installation.
    The installation status is indicated by a progress bar.
  23. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
  24. Start Word and open a blank document. Verify that LIQUENT > SmartLink is available in the ribbon.
  25. Close Word.
