Add a Package Sets PDS Project

You can add package sets to the PDS for a product via the Global Project Planning (GPP) wizard.

Consider the following before using this function:

  • You must have PDS templates associated with the product
  • The PDS templates must include package sets
  • You cannot add a package set to a PDS if the PDS contain the selected package with a Pending or Approved package set status
  • Package sets with a status of Pending or Approved will not be available for selection

Note: The procedure below is a continuation of the Update Product Detail Sets project in the GPP wizard. The procedure presented in Creating an Update Product Detail Set Project must be initiated first.To add a package set from the Select Action page of the GPP wizard:

  1. Select Add Package Set.
  2. Click Next.The Select Packaging Set(s) page appears.
  3. Do the following:
    1. Select a product.
    2. Select a PDS template.
    3. Select one or more package sets.
  4. Click Next.The Perform Another PDS Action page opens.
  5. On the Perform Another PDS Action page, do one of the following:

    ◦ Click Yes to return to the Select Action page to perform another update PDS action.

    ◦ Click No to proceed to the Summary page of the GPP wizard.

    ◦ Click Finish. The package set and all child nodes (Packaging, etc.), associated to the package set in the template are added to the PDS and you are returned to the view from which you invoked the GPP wizard. No further steps are necessary.

  6. Click Next.One of the following occurs:

    ◦ If you selected Yes in step 5, the package sets are added to the PDS for the product selected in step 3 and you return to the Select Action page of the GPP wizard.

    ◦ If you selected No in step 5, proceed to step 7.

  7. On the Summary page, do one of the following:

    ◦ Select the project link on the Summary page to review the new project you created.

    ◦ Click Finish. You are returned to the view from which you invoked the GPP wizard.

  8. To view the project after closing the GPP wizard, click Home > Projects.
  9. Click the link for the project you just created to open the Project Attributes page.
  10. Navigate to the PDS to view the newly added detail.
