Replace a Material PDS Project

Using the Global Project Planning (GPP) wizard, you can replace an approved material in one or more PDSs with a new material. When you replace an approved material using the GPP wizard, the material is replaced in each instance that it appears as Approved in the PDSs you choose to modify.

The following conditions apply to the Replace Material function:

  • The approved materials listed as available for replacement include all materials that exist in all the PDSs selected when using the GPP wizard.
  • The new materials available for selection include only active materials set up by your data administrator.
  • The approved material will be assigned a Pending Withdrawal status when it is replaced by a new material.
  • A new material added to the PDS will be assigned a Pending Add status. However, the new material will not be replaced if the same material currently resides in the parent detail with a Pending or Approved status.
  • Materials that have a Withdrawn status in the PDS can be added again to the PDS.
