Maintain Values

As a data administrator, you can add, modify, associate, or deactivate and reactivate values in Ennov InSight .

Mapped Values

While several values for entity types and statuses are provided out-of-the-box, Ennov InSight is customizable in that you can create your own values for your environment.

Values that appear in drop-down lists and selection boxes on the Ennov InSight pages must be mapped to internal values that correlate to Ennov InSight functionality. The mapping of these values is performed by your Ennov InSight Data Administrator. Entity type values are mapped in Data Administration > Other > Entity XML/UI Mappings, and status values are mapped in Data Administration > <InSight entity> > <InSight entity> Status Values.

The following values must be mapped to internal values:

Entity type values — Application types — Registration types

— Product Component types

— Product Family types

— Project types

Status values

— Product status

— Application status

— Event status

— Product Detail Set status

— Sequence status

Unique Status Value Mappings

On the Data Administration pages where you create status values for the Ennov InSight entities, you are presented with internal system statuses, such as PLANNED, APPROVED, NOT APPROVED, and SUBMITTED.

When defining custom status values for the entities, there must be only one unique customer-facing status mapped to a single internal system status per entity.

Each entity should have a unique customer facing status of Approved mapped to the internal status APPROVED. You should not have an Approved1 and Approved2 both mapped to APPROVED, as this could result in erroneous system behavior.

Active Entity XML/UI Mappings for Registration Types

To provide a proper work of wizards and their procedures, some registration type values must be active.

Do not deactivate the "out-of-the-box" registration type value Package Set Registration. There are Ennov InSight functions and procedures, such as the "Create New Applications - Package Set Registration" Global Project Planning wizard, that rely on this value remaining active.
