SMS Terms
Substance Management Services (SMS) terms enable you to associate existing substance data to uniquely identify the ingredients and materials of a medicinal product.
SMS enables you to map a SPOR Term with the Data Administration values. The following table shows the Data Administration value and the SPOR value it is linked to. You should have at least Write privileges for RPT/PDM licenses. See the Functionality and Technology Not Supported section in Ennov InSight 7.2 Release Notes.

Associate SMS Terms with Data Administration Entities
Associate substance values to an SMS (Substance Management Service) to include a single source of validated substance data.
See the Functionality and Technology Not Supported section in Ennov InSight 7.2 Release Notes. To associate SMS with an entity:
- On the homepage, click Go To.
- Click Data Administration > Product Family Maintenance > Substance Values 3. Click the substance name to which you want to associate the SMS term.
- Select the SMS tab.
- Click the Associate Term icon.
- Select the substance name to associate with the substance value. You can select only one substance.
- Click Associate Term.
Disassociate SMS Terms with Data Administration Entities
Disassociate substance values that are not required for SMS (Substance Management Service) term.
See the Functionality and Technology Not Supported section in Ennov InSight 7.2 Release Notes. To disassociate an SMS term from an entity:
- On the homepage, click Go To > Data Administration, then
Product Family Maintenance > Substance Values.
SMS Terms
- Click the substance name from which you want to disassociate substance values from an SMS.
- Select the SMS tab.
- Select the Term, and click Disassociate Term
.
SMS Terms Attributes
See the Functionality and Technology Not Supported section in Ennov InSight 7.2 Release Notes. The following are the SMS Term attributes and their description:
| Attribute | Description |
| Term ID | SMS Term Identifier. Value used to uniquely identify an SMS term. |
| Substance Name | Substance Name. |
| Data Classification | SMS Data Classification. For example: Public, Confidential. |
| Category | SMS Category. For example: Chemical. |
| Domain | SMS Domain. For example: Human use, Veterinary use. |
| Last User Updated | Indicates the name of the user who last created/updated the substance. By default, this option is read-only. It is populated automatically when updates were made to the table. |
| Last Changed Date | Indicates the date when the last change was made. By default, this option is read-only. It is populated automatically when updates were made to the table. |
| Active | Indicates if the entity is active or inactive. |
